Allstar Performance finds perfection with IMCA state championship awards program
WATERVLIET, Mich. (Feb. 5) The perfect program brings Allstar Performance on board as a new IMCA sponsor this season.
The Watervliet, Mich., manufacturer of specialty parts and equipment for circle track, drag racing and hot rod markets becomes title sponsor of the popular state championship program.
Allstar will give $100 product certificates to each state champion in the Modified, Late Model and Stock Car divisions, and $50 product certificates to each Hobby Stock, SportMod and Sport Compact state champion.
"We had been talking with IMCA for several years about different ways we could become involved as a sponsor. This was the most attractive for us because it reaches so many drivers," said John Berglund, advertising and race track promotions manager for Allstar. "We believe in helping on a level like this because it allows us to reach a large group of drivers, making more racers aware of our products and supporting our dealer network."
Points earned at drivers' first 55 starts in sanctioned weekly or designated special events during the regular season will determine state champions again this season; 379 different drivers have won state crowns since the program was introduced in 2000.
Allstar Performance started 20 years ago, selling rivets and racer tape. Making its niche with many specialty and unique items, the company's brand line now boasts more than 3,000 different part numbers featured in a 144 page full-color catalog.
While new to IMCA, Allstar Performance has been involved with many series, programs and publications over the years. Several notable IMCA drivers have flown the Allstar banner in recent years, among them Rex Merritt, Jay Noteboom and Matt Junio.
"We're very happy to become an IMCA sponsor," Division Manager Curt Spalding said. "We have dealers worldwide so our product certificates can easily be redeemed through any Allstar dealer."
"All of us here are gearheads, using the products we promote. We attend several hundred races every year," added Spalding, a former IMCA Modified track champion. "We're very excited to get this program kicked off."
Allstar will also award $50 product certificates to a designated top 10 finisher at each event in the upcoming Big Dog Dakota Classic Modified Tour and the Dakota Track Side Classic Stock Car Series.
Those prizes will be issued by Allstar the week after the series conclude. State championship product certificates will be mailed after point standings become official in October.
Information about Allstar Performance products and dealer locations is available at the www.allstarperformance.com website.
"This program is the culmination of a couple years of conversations and face-to-face meetings kicking ideas around. We feel like we already have a good working relationship with them as many times as we have talked and getting the program in place is just the icing on the cake," IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder said. "I think our racers will find Allstar Performance to be a great addition to the IMCA and we are very pleased to have them officially on board."
