Pressley Regains UARA Point Lead With Poole In Hot Pursuit

In a race that was a racer's dream Brennan Poole led from green to checker with plenty of competition close behind.  Poole's jubilation was short lived as during post race inspection UARA officials DQ'd Poole.  The win would go to Matt Kurzejewski who ran an awesome race himself.  Kurzekewski started on the pole and ran second to Poole all night long.  That was at Tri County Speedway on July 16, 2010.

The week following that event has been nothing short of dramatic for FHR and the UARA.  FHR appealed the decision of the UARA officials and the wheels were put into motion.  The appeals board was called together at Hickory Motor Speedway on Tuesday evening July 20, 2010 for both sides to plead their case. One representative only for each side is allowed in the appeals room.  The appeals board is made up of independent engine builders and tech officials.  These officials are not employed by the UARA and have no connections with any racers involved in the case.  The case was heard and the evidence seen by the board.  The board is left by themselves to look over and discuss the situation.  They then make their decision and announce to all parties concerned.

Poole who would of been 58 points ahead of friend Coleman Pressley ended up 63 points behind but no way out of contention for the UARA Championship.  Poole will continue to race his heart out and put forth all effort to regain the point lead and be the first UARA Rookie of the Year to follow it up with the title of UARA Champion.

This point battle will continue at Concord Speedway on August 7, 2010.  Not only will that battle be going on but the Rookie battle between Robert Johnson, Clint King, Ronnie Bassett Jr., Julia Dawson and Tyler English has been something to watch as well.  This 2010 Rookie group have been showing the crowds that they are awesome young drivers with win in their sites.  King is the only Rookie to win thus far in 2010 but don't be surprised to see another rookie winner before this season is finished.
