The Modern Chevrolet FASTRAK dirt late model series is paying more than $60,000 in purse and prizes during the month of May. The series will host a ‘double header’ this weekend with events at Carolina Speedway in Gastonia NC on May 9th and then on to Travelers Rest Speedway in Travelers Rest SC on Saturday. The speedways will pay over $20,000 in prize money.

The #21 Kenny Harris machine of Royce Bray from Danielsville GA will be on hand for both events. Bray has won 2 events in a row winning both Antioch Speedway and Toccoa Speedway events. Jonathan Davenport returns to race with the series this weekend. Both he and Bray have been some of the very few to ever win back to back events since the series started in 2004.

Track and Regional Champions from all over the SE will be at this event. Track Champion-Cherokee Speedway #114 Chris Cantrell, #T1 Track Champion-Lancaster Speedway Timbo Mangum, Ronnie Moseley Track Champion of I-77 Speedway, Southern and Mid East Regional Champion John Llewellyn, Carolina Track Champion Gary Puckett and former Southern Region Champion Lee Cooper. This will be a championship caliber event.

Also some of the best in the country are slated to be there including that of “Lightning” Lee Cooper, Matt “Hillbilly Deluxe” Long, John “The Wildcat” Llewellyn, Timbo Mangum, John Pursley, Chris Cantrell, Buddy Smith, Hot Rod LaMance, Greg Pilgrim, Johnny Pursley, Brandy Baker, Chris Steele, Colt Smith, Josh Harrell, Donald Bradsher, Ross Bailes, Gary Puckett, Ronnie Mosely among many others at both local tracks. Teams will be on hand from VA, TN, SC, NC, GA and AL. Both shows are sure to be tremendous for the fans.

FASTRAK is known as the ‘fan friendly’ series involving the fans at events and especially kids. The “six lucky kids” drawing on the front straight for the inversion of the “QUIK 6” qualifiers along with 4 wide salute to the fans and fireworks all keep the fans on the edge of their seats. Fireworks “on the track and off the track” is the quote of the day with some of the best dirt late model racing in the country.
